Multi-Faith Centre for Cornwall
A proposed Prayer Hall for use by a number of different minority faith communities in Cornwall such as Muslims, Hindus, Bahais, Buddhists, Jews, Pagans and Sikhs. The elliptical Prayer Hall will be a profoundly spiritual building; it is hoped that members from each of these communities will actually help build the cob walls of the building - a first for the planet? Differing faiths building a commonly owned and used prayer hall!
Design: Matt Robinson
Proposed Materials: Cornish timbers - oak , larch, douglas, chestnut & stainless steel wires; granite, schist or gabbro stone plinth; cob walls internally lime plastered; diminishing course; scantle slate roof; copper or tin ridge roof.
Status: building has been welcomed by members of the above Faith communities and now seeks funding and a piece of land.
